CONDITIONS TREATED
In British Columbia, medical physicians regularly refer their patients to a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) - and they make these referrals because massage therapy is both accessible and effective in the treatment of their patients' conditions. Today, RMTs use a blend of modern science and ancient philosophies, utilizing specific techniques and modalities.

Over the past decade, there has been a significant rise in the demand for massage therapy in BC. This can be attributed to higher educational standards, research studies showing the efficacy of massage therapy, and an overall increase in public demand for non-surgical and drug-free treatment options.

RMTs work with illness, injury and disability in diverse and broad patient populations. They are primary health care professionals that focus on disorders of the musculoskeletal and related systems.

Treatment and management of many health conditions by massage therapists is supported by research.

Josh is a graduate from West Coast College of Massage Therapy (WCCMT). During his time at WCCMT he gained clinical experience in treating an assortment of conditions, including respiratory pathologies, neuropathy, chronic pain, musculoskeletal dysfunctions and postural disorders. WCCMT’s inreaches and outreaches gave him the opportunity to assist in patient recovery from spinal cord injuries, stress disorders, whiplash and sports related injuries.

Growing up in Maple Ridge, he played competitive baseball and hockey for more than 13 years, playing baseball for Team B.C. in 2010. Recreationally, Josh has participated in jiu jitsu, soccer, volleyball, basketball, badminton and track and field events, including the 4x100m relay, discus and shotput. Since 2013 he has mainly devoted his active time to weightlifting/bodybuilding, of which, he plans on eventually competing in.

Through years of playing sports and staying active, Josh acquired an awareness of the biomechanics required to function properly from an athlete’s perspective. Various injuries throughout his active life have caused many temporary setbacks in physical performance and from his personal experience of seeking physical therapy for those injuries, he has gained both the knowledge and understanding of what it takes to get back to being functional and healthy.

Josh is passionate and eager to provide individualized treatment plans to help achieve his clients’ goals, whether it be restoring pain-free range of motion, injury rehabilitation, preventing injury, promoting overall wellbeing or relieving tension. Above all else, Josh is committed to helping his clients return to the activities they love.
